"Teacher collaboration, when practiced with a focus on instructional strategies, curriculum, and assessment particularly, has benefits for both teachers and students...Student achievement gains are greater in schools with stronger collaborative environments and in classrooms of teachers who are stronger collaborators." (Learning Forward, 2011)
On Monday, February 19, staff from Belleville Elementary and Intermediate Schools continued their collaboration around designing integrated Units of Study. Teachers worked to refine their daily lesson plans as well as align their overarching unit objectives with rigorous mentor texts and daily learning targets. What a productive day it was!

About our Schools
Located 20 miles southwest of Madison, Belleville is a charming village that boasts a strong educational system along with a strong sense of family within the community. For a small city of just under 2,500 people, Belleville offers “big-school” opportunities in a small-school atmosphere. Belleville Elementary School hosts 4K through 1st grade with just over 190 students while the Intermediate School hosts 2nd through 6th grade serving just over 350 students. Our schools provide big-school opportunities in a safe, student-centered, welcoming environment that one would expect in a small town. This is one of the many reasons Belleville was voted one of Madison’s best suburbs!
